Long story short? We have two new puppies. Puppies used to reside in my room while I was at school. Despite my best efforts (a.k.a., putting the tablet WAY up where they couldn't--at least, I THOUGHT they couldn't--reach it), they dragged my beloved $250 Graphire 4 tablet down and chewed through the cord completely.
We tried and tried to find someone who could fix it. No one can. The good thing, though? My dad's offering to get me another one that the person who last tried to fix it found on Office Depot's website for around 80-100 dollars. So now, I'm getting a new Wacom Bamboo, with a 6x4 active area.
This reduction in active area does not please me. ><;
Yeah, sure, it may work just as well as my late Graphire 4 with the 8x6 area with some time and practice, but.. Ugh. I'm spoiled. I want my big active area back. >: Plus I've heard that smaller active areas can be wonky and annoying. Ugh again. I hope this is just a rumor and that I can get used to it.
Damned puppies.
But eh. With any luck, I'll have a tablet by the weekend. I just hope it can live up to the high standards my decreased Graphire4 left behind. ; 3;

~Sonata of Melodies~
Song of delight echoes in the skies
Inside the grief your tune exists
The melody is heard from the ears of the innocent
The songs that overlaps another
The thing that is at the end of it
The wings are the sound of the beginin

I wander and wander along,
And forever before me gleams
The shining city of song,
In the beautiful land of dreams.
